Athena (A025882) is a 2-year-old spayed female. She was a very shy girl when she first came to the shelter. She would hide and didn’t want to come out. With time, she learned that we were not scary, and she showed us her true purr-sonality! She has attitude, but loves affection! She will give a little love nip if you have pet her too much (don’t worry, she is very gentle), but will soon be back for more! She likes to play with wand toys, but mostly just likes hanging around her people. She is selective with other cats, and would probably do best as an only. We expect that Athena, like many animals, may be frightened going into a new situation- so adopters need to be prepared to follow a slow acclimation with her. Ahtena is at the Bernalillo County Animal Care and Resource Center located at 3001 2nd St. SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Due to COVID-19, you can call (505) 314-0281 or (505) 468-7387 and leave a message and they will return your call to set a time and date for an adoption appointment to meet her.
